Extra space in sent passwords

Postby tomfra » Mon Mar 24, 2003 12:51 pm

I've noticed that when the password is sent, there is an extra space at the end of it and when you select / highlight the password by double clicking it and copy it into clipboard as most people do, the password will not match because of that extra space.

This is probably more a feature than a bug but 2 people already informed me about this problem. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this?

Also, I would like to change all mentions of domains / subdomains from www.subdomain.something.com to simply subdomain.something.com . I know this can be done in the templates but there may be an easier way I don't know about. Both versions work on my server so this is not a technical problem.

Thanks.

Hm...
I don't see any spaces at the end of the sent password.
You mean the password reminder, don't you?
Could you tell me an url where I can have a look at?
And for the "www" prefix: this can be done only by changing the templates - there is no other way, sorry.

Hi Alex,

I apologize I did not reply sooner. I have noticed that this problem happens only when the password is sent via the forgotten password recovery tool but then when I tried it again it worked just fine so I am not sure why it happened before.

The problem I noticed today is that the feedback form has the same problem with apostrophes as the mass mail script had but I suppose that it could be fixed the same way.

Thanks.
