Script not working

Postby Faith » Mon Jan 30, 2006 4:22 pm

Hey there,

I've just set the script up and everything went 100% as planned, except for the fact that the redirects won't work. You can see the script in action here: http://0q2.be/myred/

I'm on apache, and I've asked my host to enable wildcards, so I'm not sure what the problem is? Everything works fine until you go to view your new shorturl. Any help would be appreciated!

You have changed something as it now loads the txt file :)

The only onther thing is you havnt got wildcard dns working yet i take it your host has added it as a virtual server and added a *. a your ip in the dns records.

As thats the only other thing if you have index.php and the htaccess file in the root.

If it was all working http://0q2.be/myred/memb note the mistyped url this would auto load your home page.

Check with your host that they can confirm the above.

Yeah I just changed my 'real' startpage to home.php, which it was about 15 min ago but I was switching it to different things in hopes of fixing it lol.

It must be the wildcard thing, though I don't know what to do about it. My host said they enabled it, but if they enabled it and it's still not working then I think I'm screwed? lol.

Thanks a bunch for your help, really appreciate it! :)

Just check with your host some get mixed up by just adding an entry in the dns zone.

They also need to add an virtual server in the httpd conf file,
