Which one's the root folder

Postby bounce2us » Tue Dec 16, 2003 1:43 am

Okay, when I login to my ftp server on my host account, I have files and directory listing (also includes an htaccess file) but this directory is not accessible by people. Within that directory I have a public_html folder, this is where my webpage files, such as my index.html is stored. It also has a htaccess file in it as well. I have the redirection script installed in the public_html folder, where people may use it. And It works well accept for the redirection does not work. I contacted my webhost and they configured the server for wildcards. My question is what should the htaccess text say. I do not believe that this is a wildcard issue. What should my htaccess file text say after registering a domain or does it change at all from the initial file included with the download?

Test
Http://test.bounce2.us should goto http://www.msn.com

the public_html is your root folder.

the .htaccess file does not change all information about subdomain redirection is wrote to the mysql database.
