It's not difficult to install myLounge Redirection, but sometimes it's quite tricky. Post your questions in here.

Page cannot be displayed

Postby Guest » Thu Jan 30, 2003 12:30 pm

I just istalled myLounge.com release 1.2 and everything seems to work fine except the domain forwarding doesn't work. All I get is the (page cannot be displayed) I am using the iPowerWeb web service which has a static IP address that is shared. Is it possable to run this program on this type of system. How can I get it to work.

I really like the features and effort you put into this PHP program.

Postby guest » Thu Jan 30, 2003 2:13 pm

iPowerWeb servers are operating on the PHP version 4.23.

Everything works. Info is put into the database on mySQL but when I attempt to use the short URL I get the (Page cannot be displayed message)

I will supply any info you require.

Thanks.

Tell me which files are in your web root directory, and what file you have specified to be your real startpage.

Root Directory

Postby Guest » Fri Jan 31, 2003 1:45 am

I am running the PHPNuke program as my website base. The original index.php file was changed to index1.php when I installed your script. The files in my root directory are as follows....
400shtml
500shtml
admin.php
auth.php
backend.php
banners.php
cblock.php
footer.php
header.php
index1.php
index.php (Your Index)
mainfile.php
modify.php
password.php

The rest of your script is in the myred folder as per instructions.
The home URL is being redirected to the index1.php file as specified in the admin page of your program. This works great.
The entire program seems to work except when I try to use the new registered URL's the only page displayed is... the Page cannot be displayed

Thank you,
Larry

The default config file is set if you put all the files in the same folder. Did you change it so it knows your stuff is in the myred folder?

Same problem

Postby donovanh » Thu Mar 27, 2003 5:16 pm

Hi,

I'm having the same problem here.. people can register and receive theur welcome message.. but when it comes to trying the redirect it gives a page not found error.

Server: Apache
OS: Redhat 7.2

Its running under the domain www.designni.com. The designni.com old home page has been renamed to index2.htm and that part of the redirect works fine.

It may be what Bizzar said, but i'm not sure what is meant by this:
"The default config file is set if you put all the files in the same folder"

Any tips, most appreciated,

Don

You don't seem to have wildcarded subdomains.

Thanks for checking so quickly!

That was my first thought.. i contacted my host (dot5hosting) and they assured me that wildcarded subdomains was set up. Is there any particular wildcard they should set up? I'll write them again and pass on any extra info..

You can try it yourself:
type in www.anything.designni.com - it leads you to a 404 page (page not found).
Instead it should lead to your webroot.

My host has informed me it is set up in this way:

user.domain.com redirects/pulls from domain.com/~user

How should they change that to work with the myLounge redirect?

Cheers,

1.2.3.4 should be my IP address?
