main administration screen problem

Postby sillyboy » Wed Apr 07, 2004 7:13 am

Whenever I select an option in the main administration screen I am always returned to the main administration login.

I do not usually have any problems with sites that use cookies.

Any ideas?

Also, whenever I use put the .htaccess file from myred_14.zip in my root, I get a server error when I run any of the scripts. (ie setup.php, admin.php or index.php)

htaccess error

Postby sillyboy- » Wed Apr 07, 2004 3:28 pm

OK, I resolved the issue with the administration screen by extending the cookie time limit. Maybe this is a bug fix... the cookie should probably restrain itself to one clock or take the time difference between clocks into account.

When I do not use the .htaccess file included in myred_14.zip index.php is ignored. When I do, I get the following error:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@[deleted by request] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

What am I doing wrong...

How exactly did you fix the admin constant login problem?

1. How exactly did you fix the admin constant login problem? I don't know where to change the cookie time as you did.
2. How did you fix the other header problem? I seem to have your exact problems and need to resolve so the site shows up again. Thank you.

for cookie time look at your/include/function.php

Though it seems that it may affect security, you can get around the cookie problem by uping the expiration time of the cookies.

For member logins it is in include/function.php

It will be listed as 7200. Up this number by 3600 to extend cookie time by an hour. A high number such as 86400 will may it 24 hours. Certainly enough to get around time problems.

You can do the same for the admin area. You can find the settings in the admin.php file.
