"500 Internal Service Error"

Postby scott532 » Fri Sep 16, 2005 8:33 am

Hello,

I've just installed the redirection script. My problem is that I get a 500 error when I go to index.php, which i've configured to be the main page in setup.php (as well as confirmed when I logged into admin page).

I have a feeling that the error comes from my .htaccess, which I've created myself. Now I must admit I am confused about this .htaccess file. I currently have it as a blank file, should there be information in it? I would think that, but the script came with no .htacess file, nor did I see in the ReadMe where it states which code to insert in this file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the link to my site: http://www.kwik.ws

Thanks so much,[/i]

Where did you download the script from ?

I have just downloaded from the main page and theres the htaccess files and a read me file.

I would download it again and put the htaccess file and index.php in the root as its meant to be.

I've fixed the problem

I figured out the solution, and this is useful for anyone who is on a mac.
The problem is that, when you unzip the file on any mac OS, all files with a period in front of it, such as .htaccess shows up invisible. I luckily have microsoft virtual pc, so i unzipped the file on windows xp and realized everyone else must be using PC. So keep note mac users!

This is because of MacOS X being a linux system.
