I see these boards are dead. Hopefully someone can answer a few questions.

I am on a resller account with cPanel no shell access. I have WHM and in the DNS Functions area I made a
* 14400 in a 72.29.78.48

Now this a shared ip.

1) Do I need a dedicated IP?
2) What do I need to have my host do since I dont have access to the httpd.

The Domain I plan to use is ifurl[dot]com Can someone explain step by step what I need to have my host do.

Also will I need to do anything else special?

But incase thats to hard your host needs to add a virtual server in the httpd conf file

Thank you seems I am a bit closer I have everything working at ifurl.com however I created a test account and and put an active website as the redirect and when I put in shane.ifurl.com it takes me to the cpanel page saying no website configured. I am getting closer maybe someone can explain what I am missing.

the dns that you created will not work not with the ip address you need to create the domain name */your-domain.com

sorry miss type the domain for your dns should be *.yourdomain.com

I am a bit lost but I will with no doubt get this one day.Here is what I have done so far in WHM



Does this look right? Tried with a perion on the end of *.ifurl.com didnt change anything

Hi,

looking at you pic the settings are correct if you are still having problems it may be because you need a dedicated ip address or get your host to configure your server for the wildcard dsn to work..

i know a good host if you need one?
