Install Problems & Port Settings

Postby Performer.com » Tue Jun 29, 2004 5:08 am

I'm having a few problems with the MyLounge 1.4 install. Setup.php did create the MySQL tables, but there are now tons of PHP errors on every page. I also have Apache running on port 8080. Will this affect how MyLounge works? Do I need to be running this script on port 80?

Here's my info:

PHP: 4.3.6
Zend: 2.5
MySQL: 4.0.6
Apache 2.0.49 (Win 32)

There is an option in php where you can turn the warnings off. Sorry for the lazy programming

Another Problem

Postby Performer.com » Tue Jul 13, 2004 5:01 am

Thanks for the reply Alex. I was able to set up everything correctly or so I thought. DNS wildcard is pointing to the root directory of the Apache web server but my test subdomain is not resolving to the assigned URL. It does resolve to the default URL. What could I be doing wrong?

Test Sub-Domain:
http://dummy.Performer.com

One other question. The username (subdomain) seems to be case sensitive. Can this be switched off?

Thanks!

Redirection Problem Solved - See Solution

Postby Performer.com » Wed Jul 14, 2004 9:09 pm

My problem was the port setting on the Apache web server. It seems as though using anything but port 80 was sending all the subdomain traffic to the default URL. Problem solved!

The only other thing that has been bothering me has been the user login being case sensitive. It's a minor prpblem, but I find myself forgetting to keep all the letters in the same case as I registered with. For now I'll post a warning.

Great script! Thanks :D
