Hello,

I have a problem with the subdomain script.
Register a new subdomain is not possible because the "Target URL" is always wrong (Url not valid)

I read already the other posts about similar problems but I didn't manage it.

The Scrit ist hostet: http://www.snowboarder.dk/myred/
Webhoster is: http://www.b-one.net

Thank you for your answers!

Thank you for your support. I will ask my host.

Your script is the best subdomain script I've ever seen and your support is also very good! :D :D :D

wildcard dns

Postby Lukas » Tue Apr 13, 2004 4:36 pm

What should I exactly do with the Wildcard DNS?
I searched other Posts but I didn't really understand what I should do.

I just know that xyz.snowboarder.dk points to the file "xyz" in the main directory.

well if you dont have wildcard dns this script will not work a quick way to see if its working is to try http://www.hellomum.snowboarder.dk if its working and you have the myred index.php in root folder it should load your page up.

if its not working you will get a 404.

My Hoster said that he won't change the DNS.

But I had an other idea, is it possible to install a PHP script who changes the 404 error pages? Then I could make the index.php page to my error page.

.htaccess

Postby Lukas » Wed Apr 14, 2004 5:09 pm

I made an htaccess file like that:

that all errors point to: index.php
and the startpage is home.html

now sg4.snowboarder.dk points always to index.php but not to the direction in the script

my hoster said that he won't change the WILDCARD DNS...
is there no other way to run the script than change the hoster?

Thank you for your help!

No. Wildcarded subdomains are necessary to run the scripts.
