My First Suugestion

Today I installed your script, Might i say it's very impressive and easy too install ;)

But whilst i was looking at your script and searching around other scripts i came accross www.wzr.net and there redirection script. Written in php but not with a database backend so i chose against it. Your script had nearly all the features this one had except a few. The one i think that would make your script better would be for the ability for the end user to sign up using there own domain name.

I dont think this would be hard to work into your system, The domain wouldnt show up in the avialable domains list it would be like an exisiting domain name.

Would just adding .com, .net and .org into the domains list be a viable way todo this?

I know wrz.net, it's very good, and the author told me that he works on a database edition of the scripts.
I don't see any reason why someone would use a redirection service to redirect his own domain name. Even I use mydomain.com which is very stable and free.

Hi Alex,

I know loads of people who do this, They mainly use the uRL forwarding service provided by there domain registrar. Lots of them complian after a while due to the fact that the provider sticks adverts at the top and also creates loads of pop-ups.

I only asked as i run my own DNS servers and can have people set there nameservers to mine and then i can control DNS for them. I believe that if your script had the function too allow them to sign-up with there own domain it would be a welcome feature.

If this feature isn't something you'd like to introduce then maybe I could develop it and make it a free downloadable addition for your script. I'm pretty fluent in PHP and MySQL so shouldn't have too much trouble building it.

WZR.NET has been doing the MySQL version for sometime and it's still not available but you cannot grumble it's free ;)

I will be making a donation to mylounge when i've gone live to say thanks for a good script.

It's not much work to adopt the scripts. Just add .com, .net,... to the domains for your redirection service - this should work, I think.
Of course you have to inform your members at signup, that they already must own the domain, and point it to your IP.
