What if...

Postby pinko » Mon Jan 27, 2003 2:15 pm

...i want to put it in a second directory, not in the root one?
Obviosly i tried to do that, but many errors occurred, i know i have to change all the urls and stuff, but i'd appreciate u could give me the files where to change 'em. I have a site running with the index.php already in root, so i cannot put it there.

Can you help me? Thanks
pinko

index.php does all the redirecting, so you have to put it in the webroot.
Is there any chance to rename your index file to main.php for example?

You have to set wilcard subdomains to point to the directory you want to use.
Can you do this?
And the scripts would need a small rewrite.
Another option would be to rename my index.php to main.php, and edit the .htaccess file to point to this main.php

well, i can point to the subdirectories i want, i can do everything with my subdomains, but i cannot put the .htacceess file in root, cause than the index it will not show my website anymore,, but mylounge script :)!

It'll be great if you could rewrite the script, i'd appreciate it.

P.s- We're near, i'm in italy :p!

No, you misunderstood me.
Rename the files I mentioned, and set your index.php as "real" startpage (you can do this in the admin area of my scripts).
This should work, your index.php would show as startpage to normal visitors.

P.S.: we've got a sh** weather over her - how is the weather in Italy?

I have no irc or aim or icq...
I'll try to explain. Parliamo italiano? Just joking :)
Take my scripts, rename the index.php to main.php, and install them as described in the readme.txt.
During installation you have to set you real startpage, in your case this would be index.php ("your" index.php of phpnuke).
And don't forget to edit the .htaccess file to point to main.php instead of index.php

Wait a minute, but if i use .htaccess file to point it to main.php, than if i digit www.domain.com (the one present now), it will point to main.php, not index.php, right or wrong?

Yes, but my scripts afterwards will point to index.php

hey guys... not sure if this was resolved yet or not...

Pinko, change the main page of your php nuke stuff to main.php and then go into the index.php of Angelal's script, and it will give you a "main.htm" option. Change that to "main.php"

What this does is, it hits index.php and runs a search on the incoming domain. If none is found, then it forwards you to the main.php page.

If Bizzar.yourdomain.com didn't exist, it will launch your main phpnuke site.

Hope this clarifies it...
