errors installing new version with PHP 4.3.1

Postby tcdrake » Mon Apr 21, 2003 5:14 pm

I went through the install and was able to continue through out the install even though I was getting errors. I knew I would have problems eventually. I got to the point where I could delete the setup.php and upgrade.php files and run admin.php. When I run admin.php I get this list...
Notice: Use of undefined constant adminemail - assumed 'adminemail' in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\myred\include\mysql.php on line 16

Notice: Undefined variable: error1 in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\myred\admin.php on line 1991

Then I get the admin login below. I am able to login but when I choose an option I get the login screen again. If you couldn't tell I am running this off of my own PC for testing purposes. My PC is W2K Pro. What did I do wrong? Also this is my first time dealing with PHP and MySql. The files are located at joyandry.com/myred

Thank you

Oh geez... that blew up... :)

For starters, since your new to mysql and php, I'm assuming you read all their documentation and installed them properly. They are NOT part of IIS and require the latest versions. If you want to test to see if PHP is installed properly (which you should always do) look for the default phptest page. I forget it... if you revisit the site, let me know and I'll track it down.

Next, is mysql installed correctly. This probably won't matter so much. I have a feeling I know what your problem is.

Your problem looks like the include call in the script is either pointing at the wrong file, or that file is missing all together. It's the config for all the myred stuff. Andel, what's the name of your config file now??? I havn't had a chance to install it yet... been busy

TC, if you come back, post a url and I'll have a look at it...

Possibly vars.php is missing?
