"Apache cPanel" msg after server migration

Postby www » Tue Nov 25, 2008 7:54 pm

Hey guys,

I've had my site http://www.freedomains.com.ug up and running for some time now; a year maybe.

two days ago my host migrated me to a faster server I get the following msg on all redirection requests:

Code: Select all
Great Success !
Apache is working on your cPanel® and WHM™ Server

during the upgrade they put me on php5 but i have tried reverting to version 4 with no change.
I have had assurance that wildcarded DNS is enabled and my domain is declared as a virtual server (i pointed my host to this forum).

a year ago I had played around with the code a fair bit after first installing so that registration could be possible directly from index.php
you can still get to http://com.ug/members.php but not from http://www.freedomains.com.ug/members.php like you should be able to
Even when you type a valid subdomain like http://test.com.ug/ it should still work but it just gives the above text

When i first installed this script i imagine that this would be easy for me to fix but its been so long, i've all but forgotten how this thing actually works. I'm throwing the question out there if anytone has any suggestions but otherwise i will be working hard to get this up again.

I will update this thread as and when i have any news good or bad.

Fixed!

It was a problem with the host after all. I've learned a lot about whats involved in wildcarding thanks to this, tempted to run my own WHM reseller account next time!

if wildcarding DNS is working at all visiting any subdomain should point to your default directory in public_html (usually index.php). As soon as i realised this was the case its easier to troubleshoot but putting a test "hello world" index.php file in place.
