Trouble with MyRed in my site

Postby soc » Mon Jan 26, 2004 5:51 pm

Hello to all,

first of all, sorry for my not very good english, i hope you understand what i write here.

I use in my site CPANEL.

In my site i have the main ,for example here : http://www.mysite.com/site/index.php

In root i have an index.php that redirect in 2 ways.
Writing people www.mysite.com they go to :
1. /site/index.php if they come in from web
AND
2. /wap/index.wml if they come from their mobile phones(i have a wap site)

Using the MyRed Script's index.php in root of my site, i will have problems with that.

My questions now are :
1. Is it possible with One index.php in root to have my 2 redirections(to wap site and to main web site) AND the uses of MyRed script?

2. Is it possible to put the script, for example here :
http://www.mysite.com/Subs/myred/... ?
I mean to put the script in a subfolder and to put inside folder Subs index.php, htaccess file and myred folder of MyRed script.
If yes, do i have to make some changes in index.php and htaccess files of MyRed script and what? so to work there!

3. By putting wildcard in root, that means that subdomains control from CPANEL is disabled, and the control of subdomains is Only from MyRed script, yes?
At the moment, i allready have 2 subdomains in my site. If i have wildcards in root, those 2 subdomains i have now, don't work. What i have to do about?
Is it any way to make them work, or i have to recreate these subdomains via MyRed script?

Thanks in advance :-)

Question 1) Not this way. Try to put all myred files into the "subs" directory, and set cpanel to redirect all non-wap requests into this "subs" directory. This is just a guess, I don't know if it works.
Question 2) see question 1
Question 3) Once wildcarded, all subdomains must be set by the scripts.

Hi and thanks for quick reply,

ok, having One index.php in root is not possible. Also, using CPANEL for subdomains is not possible too. No prob but ,

the one i can do is only that, and i need your help about pls.
If i put in subfolder Subs the index.php , htaccess and myred folder of MyRed Script, will be like that :

root (www.mysite.com)
file index.php (the one i use now with redirection in web and wap site)
folder wap (my wap site is here)
folder site (my main web site is here)
folder Subs (
file index.php
file htaccess
folder myred)

In this way, what i have to change in MyRed Script's files (index.php , htaccess , other files) , so to work from there? or is not able to work if index.php is not in root or else?

Thanks

I can only imagine, that the scripts work, when you put them in your "site" folder.

I was thinking if something else is possible, so everything to work ok. Let me know if you think that this is able :

in root to put index.php and htaccess files from MyRed's script. To rename my old index.php(that i have with redirection in web or wap site) to start.php. To change in htaccess file from index.php index.html index.htm to start.php . And to putmyred folder in root, and not in Subs folder as i told before.

Do you think that in this way, everything will work ok?

Greetings from Greece!

ps) in admin configuration of MyRed script, in Your "real" startpage: what i have to put now?
