Does myred check to makesure email addresses given are valid? i don't mean the correct format, but to check weather members are really giving THEIR email address

Nope

But if you dont use a real email addy then you dont get your activation email (if its turned on) and your password for the account.

So theres no point signing up with a fake email as the account will not work.

i dont want to sound stupid, but how do i turn email activation off?

sorry was in rush when i answered the turn on/ off bit is email you get when people sign up.

they should still get mail so they can log into account
